Forum Discussion

  • You need to explain your question. SQL Daily_Backup should NOT run as Monthly_Schedule.
  • You are not giving enough information.
What are the schedules in your policy?
How is the backup kicked off - manual or automatic?
What is the backup frequency for each schedule?
If you are using Calendar based scheduling, is 'retry allowed after runday' selected?
Do you have different policies for daily, weekly, monthly? Database backups work different - you should have different policies for different retentions.
You can only have one Default_Application schedule in a policy that determines the retention period.
  • Daily_Schedule Application Backup  2 weeks --- 20    Continue No No
Full_Daily Automatic Backup  2 weeks 1 Day 1    Continue No No
Full_Monthly Automatic Backup  1 year <calendar> 1    Continue No No
Full_Weekly Automatic Backup  3 weeks 1 Week 1    Continue No No
Full_Yearly Automatic Backup  7 years <calendar> 1    Continue No No
    Monthly_Schedule Application Backup  1 year --- 20  H_Offsite  Continue No No
Weekly_Schedule Application Backup  3 weeks --- 20    Continue No No
    Yearly_Schedule Application Backup  7 years --- 20  H_Offsite  Continue No No

    Retry not selected.

Basically the Full_daily Automaic backup runs but the Monthly_Schedule is used for retention
