SRT with NBU client 7.0.1

Hi,

When I go to create the SRT (Enterprise Linux 5.5), the first step is apoint the path of OS files and the second path is install the client on the SRT. That is the problem, When I indicate the path of NBU 7.0 client, the installation works, but I need to install the NBU 7.0.1 version because the Boot Server is 7.0.1 version.

 

I want to know how can i install the client 7.0.1 on the SRT?

    You need to get hold of the relevant 7.0.1 CLT and JAV zip files. Unzip them into the same directory and then run bmrsrtadm. At the menus' choose:

     

    5.  Modify an existing Shared Resource Tree

    Enter your SRT and then at the next menu choose

    1.  Install Symantec NetBackup Maintenance Pack.

    Enter the path to the dir where you unzipped the CLT and JAV updates.

     

    I hope you're having more luck with BMR than myself on Solaris. It's been nothing but grief from day one and I still don't have a fully working BMR environment, even after logging support calls.

    Execute bmrsrtadm on bmr boot server.

    Select option 5.  Modify an existing Shared Resource Tree.

    And then "Install Veritas NetBackup Maintenance Pack"

    Provide your 7.0.1 NBU Client path here.

    It is not necessary of installing same version of NBU client into srt as that of boot server nbu version.

    You can install same version of NBU client in srt as your client machine's NBU cl version.

    e.g. NBU on boot server = 7.0.1, NBU on client=7.0 then SRT having NBU 7.0 client would work. Not necessary to upgrade NBU CL in SRT to 7.0.1 level.

    But if you have other client of same of running nbu cl 7.0.1 then you better have SRT containing NBU 7.0.1, as you can use it to restore both the clients.
