Storage LifeCycle Policies and Duplication

Hello,

I'm currently setting up a backup infrastructure with NetBackup 7.5 EE + a DXi6520 and a ML3000 Library. I've set up the OST part, created my diskpools and media pools, storage units, storage policies and backup policies. Everything is working fine except some minor problems.

My question is related to duplication on tape since i'm not too familiar with Netbackup. All backups (weekly, monthly full backups and daily incremental backups) have to be duplicated on tape. I've set up the SLPs with two operations, first the backup to disk and then a duplication on tape with two different retention. Is this the best way to implement it ?

    The quantum Dxi can perform direct-copy-to-tape.

    Providing you set up as per the OST disk guide, then when the SLP kicks off the duplication, it should go straight from the Dxi to tape (providing the drives are set up connected directly to the dxi/ set as ndmp storage unit etc, as per the manuals).
