switch user agent
Hello, I'm working on netbackup 8.2 I need to do some customization regarding the netbackup agent if possible.
Who is the user using the netbackup agent?
i think its root. Is it possible to switch users?

What customization do you have in mind ?
File system backup is root, if it isn't root, it's impossible to guarantee a complete backup because file right may prevent backup.
For database backup, it's usually the database user.
I would like to know if it is possible to install the agent on machines that have the root user disabled.
The Netbackup agent runs as root. It can run even with the root account disabled nor does Netbackup need the root account credentials. However a root account is needed when installing/upgrading the root account.
