Tape Library Commands

Hi Experts,

In Tpconfig -l command it shows device path and Vmoprcmd shows drive path so what is the differnce between device path and drive path?

What are 3,1,0,1 (Port, Bus, Target, and Lun)?

Thanks so very much.....
  • Tpconfig -l command it shows device path and Vmoprcmd shows drive path

Really? Please show us output of these commands in your environment.

tpconfig is used to configure or display configuration.

vmoprcmd is used  to change or display status.

See NBU Commands Reference Guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3684

  • Hi Marianne,

Pls check the output in the Netbackup admin Guide..

    1:-Page No. 624:- Tpconfig -l

    2:-Page No. 680:- Vmoprcmd
  • Issue the commands in your environment and please post the output.
The difference will be clear when you compare output.

Run these 2 commands and post the output:

    tpconfig -l

    vmoprcmd

    PS:
I think you are referring to NBU Commands manual. Not Admin Guide.
In the sample output in Commands manual, drive path and device path is exactly the same.
It shows a multi-pathed drive in vmoprcmd output and single path in tpconfig.
The device/drive output is for a Windows media server.
