Tape Library Drive not detected

Hi all,

I have master server running windows 2008 R2 and media server on 2012 R2. I zoned tape library Scalar i500 on media server, but the tape drives are detected as other devices. And when i configure tape library only robot is detected.

I know this would be a windows issue, but is there anyone have a same issue and share a solution?

Regards,

Iqbal

  • You're right, it is an operating system related prerequisite. Install the tape device drivers from the hardware vendor you used. That could be Dell, Quantum, etc etc. Once the tape drives are visible in device manager you can continue. Symantec don't provide drivers any more.

  • They dont have driver download on their web page. I am using Quantum iScalar Tape Library but driver detected as HP Ultrium 6 SCSI (no driver).
