tape library media server

Hi All,

Quick question, i have media server that already attached to Tape Library. And then, i also wants to use this media server to manage backup local NDMP. could netbackup do that?

  • Yes,

Your media server can accept NDMP data across the LAN from the Filer. Or you could zone the tape drives to the filer and then they could share the drives (assuming you're licensed for SSO).

  • as i write "manage backup local NDMP" i assume you know i already zoning the filer to tape library. I think there no problem then

  • Just add the credentials of the filer in NetBackup Console

Then run tpautoconf -verify "filer name/IP" from CLI

then run tpautoconf -probe "filer name/IP" from CLI

This should show you the devices

If they're visible you can run the device configuration wizard
