Upgarde NBU Linux client from 7.7.2 to 8.1.1

I am planning to upgrade my Netbackup Linux clients from 7.7.2 to 8.1.1 (preparing to go to 8.2 on the infrastructure servers).    Since there were no Token certificate requirements for 7.7.2, will I need to establish a new token certificate for each client ?   I will be using the "update_clients" command to push out the upgrade.   Will it require me to issue the token prior to the upgrade ?   Just don't like surprises during installs

    Since the clients don't currently have tokens, fo the sake of the upgraded, is it advisable to set the Global SEcurity Settings to MEDIUM so that there are no Tokens required during the upgrade ?
