Upgrade NetBackup 7.5 clients and older to 8.1.2

Does anyone know if there are any issues with upgrading 64-bit clients running 7.5 or older directly to 8.1.2? I would like to use the nbupdate deployment policies or do I need to remove the old version and install 8.1.2 from scratch?

The SORT upgrade checklist doesn't go that far back.

Thank you.

  • I tried the upgrade on a Solaris 11 server running 7.5.0.6 and the upgrade was successful using the 8.1.2 deployment policy.

      Hi

The only real consideration is whether the client is supported with 8.1.2

A client upgrade is in effect an uninstall followed by an new install (so the prior version is not relevant).

      Cheers
