TIP: What logs directories do I need to create to troubleshoot?

There is a handy /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/README.debug file

Inside is some good info about what each of the log directories mean if you create them.

what this bpdm log will contain?

    bpdm

                    -disk manager
-used on storage units of type Disk
-started by bpbrm on backups and restores
-during backups and restores, one of these is started (on the
server with the storage unit) for each client backup or restore

So you would see activity in the bpdm logs relating to the above topics/processes/events.

  • Have a look at one of the logs, then please tell the rest of us.

I would expect to find image cleanup requests in this log when NBU image expiration takes place.
This log should also monitor High and Low water marks (set in STU properties).
