VM ( Hosting DB) Backup through vStorage API for DP

Hi All,

We want to use vStorage API to backup VM's (hosting DB , eg SQL, Oracle) running on ESX 4.0.

Would the successful backups of such VM's through vStorage API be consistent and the restore would restore the DB as well

    Hi,

     

    You should have an netbackup client in the machine when doing database/application backups. You then perform a regular db backup using the client.
