VMware Snapshop backup with error 156

Hi everybody,

 

I have been fighting with a problem envolving VMware backup using NetBackup 7.5.0.4 and ESX 5.0. When I start a job to backup virtual machines, I get the error as shown the attached file "ERROR1".
 
 
I got these erros on bpfis log:

    Is any vm backup working or do all of them fail?

    You can configure the policy not to quiesce the snapshot just to test.

    You can post the policy configuration with "bppllist policy_name -L"

    There can be many causes: vss provider not installed, there is a lot of I/O, check "use block level incremental" with V4 vms, etc...

    Hi

    There alot of reasons for 156 status code you should follow all cases.

    If this is first vmware policy verify that your vcenter or ESX host giving you the role or permission to take snapshot.

    for more details kindly review NetBackup7.5_RefGuide_StatusCodes page 121

    Remove the VMWare Tools from the Client, Restart

    Then, Install the VMWare Tools Custom Mode, Do Not Install the Volume Shadow Copy Service (X)

    Restart and Try Again thr Backup.
