Antivirus exclusion on opscenter server

Hi Team,

Please suggest if any file/folder or .exe needs to exclude from antivirus scanning running on opscenter server (server1) and opscenter agent server (master server).

Netbackup and opscenter version - 7.6.0.3

platform - windows 2012

AV - Symantec endpoint protection

  • hi Watsons , this link is for Netbackup only.

I have got the below recommendation from symantec for opscenter server exlcusion from antivirus scanning:

    Folders:
    <install-path>\Program Files\Symantec
    <install-path>\Program Files (x86)\Symantec

In services, the OpsCenter database service, OpsCenter server service should be excluded.
And OpsCenter Agent service (in case you are using it)
The .exe's in reference to these services are:
    OpsCenterSrvService.exe
    OpsCenterWebSrvService.exe
    OpsCenterAgentService.exe

  • thanks James007. This is my posted thread  :-).

In this , SDO has suggested AV exclusion on master / media server.

  • Opps...... :)

You can exclude opscenter related folder and files

Also below location you can exclude

    ./installpath/OpsCenter/Server/db/data/

also you can contact to symantec support.

  • No file is required to be excluded in OpsCenter server , as far as i know.

But if you experience OpsCenter server performance issue, it might be good to exclude this:

    \Program Files\Symantec\OpsCenter\server\db\data\

  • thanks Watsons for suggestion.

This is new setup , so just wanted to know if AV can create issue for ops-center or not.

also pls suggest , what needs to exclude from master server ( on which opscenter agent will run ) ?

  • contacted support team , waiting of the reponse....

i will post here , whatever i get as a recommendation.

  • There is an official technote for master server exclusion from antivirus:
