Differences between the ApplicationHA (for VMware) Console and the Symantec High Availability Console

The ApplicationHA (for VMware) Console is the predecessor of the Symantec High Availability Console.

You can only configure one console with a VMware vCenter server at a time.

To configure the Symantec High Availability Console with a VMware vCenter Server that is already configured with the ApplicationHA Console, you must upgrade the ApplicationHA Console to the Symantec High Availability Console.

The ApplicationHA Console and the Symantec High Availability Console differ on the following points:

  • Console versions available
  • Supported guest components
  • Interfaces added in vSphere Client
  • Supported upgrade paths

For details, see:

Differences between the ApplicationHA Console and the Symantec High Availability Console

For information whether console is mandatory for deploying ApplicationHA (for VMware) or the Symantec High Availability Solution, see the following Symantec Connect article:

Symantec High Availability Console: Is it mandatory for deploying ApplicationHA (for VMware) or the Symantec High Availability Solution?

ApplicationHA documentation for other releases and platforms can be found on the SORT website.
