Cross Cable in Storage Foundation

Hi,

 

I have 2 master servers that they are connected through cross cables (cluster).

I would like to know what´s the reason for that (and I if can remove one of them).

    Hello,

     

    If you're saying that you have two cluster nodes that have NetBackup Cluster configured then those cables would probably for the heartbeat communications (LLT/GAB).

     

    You cannot remove the crossover cables. They are used to communicate the cluster status, cluster changes, updates, etc between the nodes. If you'd like to connect them to a switch instead of the direct connection that can be done if properly planned.

     

    Please share the contents of the following file on each server

    /etc/llttab

    Hi

     For VCS cluster,they need at least two heartbeat for LLT,to communicate information. 

     If you remove one cable, it will get into Jeopardy state, once one node leave, failover will not happen.

    So you shouldn't remove cable.
