  • Hi,

It would always be recommended to purchase the latest version of software ....

Are you planning to control Oracle RAC using Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC ? or you want to use only veritas volume manager ?

For Solaris, latest version is 5.1SP1 -PR3 however since you want to use Oracle 9i (if under veritas SF control) then you may need to use SF 5.0-MP3

I would recommend you check release notes of any version to understand the pre-requisites .. All documentation can be found here:

    https://sort.symantec.com/documents

    Supported solaris versions for 5.1:

    https://sort.symantec.com/public/documents/sfha/5.1sp1/solaris/productguides/html/sfrac_notes/ch01s08s03.htm

    Required OS patches for 5.1:

    https://sort.symantec.com/public/documents/sfha/5.1sp1/solaris/productguides/html/sfrac_notes/ch01s08s04.htm

    Supported DB version for 5.1

    https://sort.symantec.com/public/documents/sfha/5.1sp1/solaris/productguides/html/sfrac_notes/ch01s08s05.htm

I see here that Oralce 9i is not supported,

    From release notes of 5.0MP3

Trialware can be downloaded from here:

  • I agree with Gaurav - Latest is best, but your OS, Sun Cluster and Oracle versions are all VERY old...

Are those versions still supported by Oracle?

Best to check the SUN Cluster compatibility guide for recommended/supported version of VxVM.
