Creating Recovery Point Error - Canot Read Source?

I am trying to create a recovery point and consistently get the error message below.  I can successfully run a My Documents backup.  I have run chkdsk /f on the volume I am try to create the recovery point for.  What else should I try?

Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: My Computer Backup.
    Error E7C3000F: Device \\?\SymantecSnapshot0 cannot read 8232 sectors starting at LBA 36239376.
        Error EBAB03F1: The semaphore timeout period has expired.
Error E7C3000F: Device %1 cannot read %3 sectors starting at LBA %2.

    My problem is with Backup Exec, I am trying to run a back up and I am getting an error, is there a better forum to put this?

    Seems to me like you have bad sectors on your HDD, try checkdisk to correct those errors.
