Granular Restore Option for SEBR 8.5 with BE 12.5 application agents

Case scenario:

A MS Exchange server has the BE Exchange agent and SEBR Server Edition installed. Provided that the BE Exchange agent already has granular restore support, is it still necessary to get the granular restore option of SEBR? Does the two provide similar functionalities and is just a concern if SEBR was installed as a standalone product? If not, when do you choose one over the other?
  • You only need the Granular Restore Option if you want to extract Exchange mail items or SharePoint items from the disater recovery images.  The Granulatr Restore Option does not have Public Folder capabilities yet.  If the Backup Exec's granular restore capabilities are working well for you, then I would recommend sticking with that.  Backup Exec has the ability to resore the mail item to the users mailbox directly.  Granular Restore Option just extracts the mail item in Outlook message format so that you can forward it to the end user.
