SO confused

Trying to update old SSR seems impossible.  Or even finding someone to ask about it!

All I can tell you is that 2016 Veritas/Symantec SSR v 16.0.2.56166  still runs on home systems and still more reliable than much newer apps.  The software still comes up on home systems as the absolute best protection for our home networked Win & iOs devices.

So did SSR for home users just go away? or can one pay to keep it current, albeit for home network?

I'm not technical, but am just so impressed at how that software stands up after what, 4 OS upgrades of OS since Win7?  And everytime there's a crash we end up finding the decades old SSR backups still run flawlessly.

I don't know the economies, but seems like you're missing so much business.  Nobody seems to want to even venture a price to keep the software current for home pcs.

Do home users just dump the old SSR or do you offer any version suitable for home networks?

Thanks.

  • The below link is a software compatibility list (SCL) each version. See the editions for Windows 10 or 11 in the SCL. System Recovery 23 supports home edition to enterprise edition for Win 10 / 11.

Actually I also use System Recovery 23 on my private PC with Windows 11 home edition.
I confirm that I can back up entire system, and restore the entire system with a System Recovery Disk.
