FAQ: Does DRA require privileged user access?

Here is a question that the DRA product team received, and thought it would be useful to share the answer with the community:

Does DRA require privileged user access?

  • Here is the answer from the DRA product team:

Disaster Recovery Advisor mainly uses non-privileged queries and commands that do not require any administrative rights. There are a small number of read-only queries and commands that do require root privileges on UNIX. For these, Symantec recommends using privilege control software, such as sudo, PowerBroker, super, and others.
