Data Restoration to Flex Appliance

We have existing Veritas 5240 Appliance with Netbackup running. Now we have another Flex Appliance installed in Network. How to restore all data from Existing appliance to the new Flex Appliance. or any other suggestions for smooth data copy.

Is this for a media server or master server? What version of NetBackup are we talking about?

@DPeaco, This is Veritas Flex Appliance 5240, Both Media and Master server are same. and Netbackup Version is 10.0 with the appliance.

Existing Veritas Appliance is having Netbackup Version 8.1.2 and master and media server is same.

 

we need to transfer all backup set from existing appliance to new appliance.

 

Looking forward any guidance.

If both are in the same NetBackup domain, you can list the images in the MSDP on 5240 and duplicate those to the instance on Flex.

There're multiple ways to get the list of images: bpimmedia, nbstlutil commands or catalog menu on Java UI.

Then use bpduplicate command or duplicate section on Catalog menu on Java UI to copy the selected images to the STU pointing to the MSDP as instance on Flex.
