Hello Voxers,
We are trying to monitor a Veritas appliance using PRTG Network Monitor as a monitoring tool.
My questions are the following:
Is this possible?
can we monitor the disks of a veritas appliance using OIDs?
What are the minimum rights for the used account?
Thanks,
BR.

Hello @CraigV ,
Thanks for your reply and sorry for the late feedback.
I think this is how to configure API for SNMP supervision on appliances :
For appliances, you must configure SNMP in settings > alerts > SNMP
https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/42904037-141132921-0/v40737620-141132921
You can get the MIB using the command : SNMP ShowMIB
Here is the guide for traps:
https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/109354493-141132792-1
For API's, you must create the API KEY for a user through WebUI.
API communicate with Master server and not Media.

You can try and see if it works. I'd recommend using the details of the account that can log onto the appliance. At the very least you should be able to get an up/down response from the monitoring tool.
We use PRTG and whilst it doesn't do all of our devices, it does our firewalls and servers which is what counts.

Appliance SNMP will only work for the hardware/OS monitoring. It won't work for NBU, but you can always add OpsCenter and send SNMP traps for other NBU related things.
