A lot of people have different ways in updating the VSA. In the old days there was a trick to it however now days you only need to update the service account in ONE place if you change the VSA password. This can be done in Four, yes 4 easy steps, and the password is required only Twice….
1. In the Enterprise Vault Administration Console, Right click the Site and Select Properties.
2. Select The Service Account Tab
3. Enter the new VSA password.
4. Select Apply
Enterprise Vault then updates EVERY enterprise Vault Service in the Site.
Once complete you will receive a notification of how it went.
I turned off one of my servers, because as something could go wrong, I have only seen this once in production ever. Never the less you are informed. I deleted one service from a server called evserver4.ns.local.
Computer: evserver1.ns.local
Action: Change Vault Service account details.
Result: The Vault Service account has been successfully changed to 'NS\sv_ev' on server 'evserver1.ns.local'.
