Hi All,
This is one of the problem I had faced on NetBackup 6.5.3. Problem is mentioned below
Problem -
schedule jobs are not running automatically, manual is working fine
Solution -
This problem is due to scheduler file problem. We have to recreate the scheduler file in order to resolve this problem. Below listed are the steps for the same.
To recreate the scheduler file-
- Stop and kill all NetBackup processes
- Remove temp workspace directory and files
a) rm -r /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpsched.d
b) rm -r /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bprd.d
c) rm -f /usr/openv/netbackup/db/jobs/pempersist (may be listed as pempersist2..)
d) rm -f /usr/openv/netbackup/db/jobs/restart/* (remove all files in restart directory)
- Restart NetBackup processes
- Clear resource broker
a) /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbrbutil –resetAll
b) /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbrbutil -releaseAllocHolds
Calender based backups -
Calendar based backups are meant to run on the day they are scheduled. If a job is scheduled to run on a particular day, the job will start on the earliest possible time based on the Start Window for that day. In the example you gave, the Start Window starts at 20:00 and goes to 23:59:59 that same day. The next day’s Start Window starts at 00:00:00 (midnight) up to 06:00:00. If both days are selected, the first day should start at 20:00:00 and the next day should start at midnight because these are the earliest times the Start Window opens for that day.
If the intention is for the jobs to start at 20:00:00 each day, the Start Window for each day should be from 20:00:00 to 23:59:59. This way the earliest time the Start Window opens is at 20:00:00 and the job should go active at that time.
