So, what's this .CAB file that is generated when running the Deployment Scanner, and what does it contain??

The .CAB file is generated when you run the Deployment Scanner option from EV7 upwards. The following Technote gives information on how to run this http://support.veritas.com/docs/300867

On completion, the .CAB file is normally kept within the Enterprise Vault program folder. You can open this .CAB file, or extract it, to view the content. The information below is from an EV8 deployment, earlier versions of Enterprise Vault have less information. The files can hold some very useful information, and most of them are best viewed using Microsoft Excel.

customproperties.xsd	This contains the XML schema for validating thecustom properties XML file
Deployment_Scanner_Report_26082009_101659.html	HTML summary report showing information about your system
EnterpriseVaultDirectory.dbo.AcceleratorEntry.txt	SQL query against the AcceleratorEntry table. If using an Accelerator product it will show information regarding your customer databases
EnterpriseVaultDirectory.dbo.AdminJobEntry.txt	SQL query on AdminJobEntry table, detailing jobs that are either running, queued etc. These jobs can include tasks like index rebuilds, archive exports etc etc Job State Description 0 None 1 Completed 2 Failed 3 Queued 4 Busy 5 Incomplete 6 Aborted 7 New 8 Suspended

Yep, that's right, but there is also a lot inside this file that is not shown in the Deployment Scanner summary tool.  Rockmead76 has written a great tool which is like the Deployment Scanner report on steroids - well worth using...
