Upgradation From NB 6.5 To NB 7.6.0.4 (SOPS) for Linux

Hi

i wana share the SOP Made by us to upgrade  the Netbackup Server Upgradation from NB 6.5..4 to NB 7.6.0.4 

Current configuration:

OS: Suse linux 10 sp2 64 bit

NB Version : 6.5.4

Upgrade configuration:

OS Upgraded: Suse Linux 11 sp2 with same hostname and IP Address

NB Version ; 7.6.0.4

1) OS Installation on New Server (SLES 11 SP2) with the same hostname and IP Address

2) Netbackup Server Upgrade from 6.5.4 to 7.1.0.4 on existing server

3) Stop all backup jobs and disable backup policies

4) Take online catalog backup

5) Stop Netbackup Services

6) Unmount the SAN partition from the exisiting Netbackup Server

7) Unmap the Netbackup LUN's from the storage to exisitng Netbackup Server

8) Install the same Netbackup version 7.1.0.4 on new server with SLES 11 SP2

9) Zone this Netbackup Server with the NetApp storage

10) Map the Netbackup LUN's with the new server

11) Mount the SAN partition on the new server

12) Restore the catalogs

13) Verify all backup policies and catalog data

14) Run test manual backups and restores to verify

15) After successful UAT, Upgrade Netbackup 7.1.0.4 to Netbackup 7.5

16) Run test manual backups and restores to verify

17) After successful UAT, Upgrade Netbackup 7.5 to Netbackup 7.6

18) Upgrade Netbakcup patch 7.6.0.4
