BAckupExec Appliance 3600

Hello,

We recently purchased 2 Backupexec appliances. I was planning to run one locally. Once it was setup and backuping up properly, I was going backup that one to the second and then ship to our secondary location, and then backup to it remotely.

While setting up the first one, I've run into some installation issues. Could someone please help me, and explain how can I install clients on linux servers and Mac Servers and/or workstations.

I can't seem to figure out how to install backupexec clients on these.

Thanks for your time and help.

Gurpreet

...the links below will detail how to install the agents. If you can browse to the installation on the 3600, then the agents will be available as per normal:

For BE, the installation of the Linux and Mac remote agents is a manual process.  The installation files for these agents are located in the Agents directory under the BE installation directory and these installation files needs to be copied to the remote Linux or Mac machine and installed from there.  I am not sure where these agent installation files would be located in the appliance.

Hello CraigV,

Sorry for the late response, but thanks for the help.

That is exactly what I was looking for. I had put this on the back burner for a while, and was using carbon copy in the interim to backup mac servers and tar/tape for linux servers.

I will implement the installation as show in the links this weekend.
