Backup Exec 3600 Appliance NIC5 RMM port

Hi there,

I have a doubt about if should I connect the NIC5 RMM port of my BE3600 appliance to network?

I've seen that there are some guides that explain is exclusively of Symantec technical support use, but is for remote access or onsite support?

If yes, what considerations should I know to make it work properly?

Thanks!

Have a great day

Hi,

It should be for Symantec to remote in. I've checked the setup guide and can't find anything in it that says you mustn't connect it, or even must connect it.

If it were me, I'd connect it as it is a management port...otherwise leave it disconnected, and if you have an issue, THEN connect it and get Symantec to help you configure it.

Thanks!
