Backup Exec 3600 R2 not showing hot fix TECH215884

Hello Support,

The Backup Exec 3600 R2  does not show the hot fix TECH215884 under the appliance update in the WebUI.

The appliance version running is

I have initiated the update download but there is no update detected

I need to upgrade  the appliance.

What can i do to ensure the hotfix works.

Hi Vjware/Imosla,

Thank you guys for the responses.

I finally opened the case with Symantec support and after checking the hotfix was sent to me.

I ran the exe and restarted net start winrm with the runas administrator cmd and the hotfix installed.

I guess i need to go one more step higher to upgrade the appliance to R4 as I have seen on the forum.

It looks like you need to download the appliance upgrade image iso from the file connect website.  See this  document that is referenced by TECH215884    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO100113

Hi Imosla,

Thank you for responding.

I have gone through this HOWTO but i'm concerned about the below excerpt.

Ensure that appliance hot fix TECH215884 is applied before attempting to start the upgrade. Without this hot fix, the upgrade cannot be initiated.

  • To verify the hot fix was successfully applied, start the Backup Exec Appliance web UI, log in, and then click Manage > Installed updates.

  • Scroll to the bottom and verify that TECH215884 is listed under Appliance updates                                       

I can't see this hotfix at all.

I do not want to have issues when I need to upgrade.
