Backup Exec 3600 readd deduplication storage

Hi,

If I removed predefined deduplication storage on backup exec 3600 appliance how can i readd / recreate dedupe storage?

Try RDP into the appliance

Once RDP is done

As you have formated the dedup volume

Unshare the deduplcication folder from the console If shared with any managed server

Delete the deduplication folder from the GUI

Remove the deduplication option from yellow button > install agents and options on this server > Next on the license page, uncheck the deduplication option

Restart the 3600

Readd the deduplication option

Configure it as a deduplication storage from the storage tab

Please pardon my 'stupid' question - why would you or anybody want to do that?

:) simply accident when removing the server from the CASO. MMS showed no storage configured (sic!). 

So i reformat RAID ;) but i don't have option to create dedupe storage.

What does not change the fact that on the BE3600 applinace should not be such a problem with the reconfiguration of the dedupe storage. Why i can't add new dedupe storage (reformat drive as dedupe)?

What happens when you use the configure storage from the storage tab?

I'd suggest logging a call around this directly with Symantec. This is a very locked-down appliance and support may be the only people that can assist you!

I don't have option to configure dedue storage, dedupe services status is disabled and i can't get acces to services on remote computer (appliance) to enable service ;) :(

I wonder if there will be the easiest way to reinstall the application from the attached USB media.

Very professional advice. Everything is working properly and I learned how to unlock rdp ;)
ps. The application is not as hard locked-down, for example you can easily access the network share by typing \ \ backupappliance \ c $ and you can create folders, copy files etc. ;)
