Hii,

I am using BE appliance 3600 R2 and BE2012 in it.

Can I expand my dedup storage by adding extra shelf.

If yes how can i connect another storage.

Note: Except USB connected external drive.

Hi,

Nope, 5.5TB in that unit is all you have. No shelf expansion available.

Since this appliance will no longer be produced from next year (although you will have support for it until that ends), you might want to look at the NetBackup appliances if you want to continue with a Symantec product. These appliances will continue.

Otherwise, you'd need to look at a supported NAS/array and revert back to normal BE with the dedupe option licensed when it comes time to either replace the BE appliance, or if you are urgently requiring space to expand your dedupe capabilities.

Thanks!
