Hi all,
Canceling the backup job doesn't seem to work for me, it says pending cancel and it stays there forever. Does anyone encounter such a problem ?
I am using Appliance 3600 R3 !

This happens when BE is waiting for a task to complete or cancel. Been around for many versions of BE.
The only way to force this to stop is to restart the BE services through BEutility.exe, and most likely cancelling the processes through Task Manager (if you have access to that on the appliance).

Well, we need a better solution, when I restart Applaince if caught up in such situation, it ruins my tapes. It says End Marker Unreadable and I can't use the free space on the tapes !
Are you sure there is no graceful way of canceling the job ?

Hi,
Your only options are:
1. Restart the services and kill any running processes;
2. Wait for this process to be terminated normally.
No mention of restarting the appliance at all.
