Quick questions about the appliance

Hi,

A couple of questions:

1- Can the appliance be remotely accessed? 

2- Does the appliance offer any type of encryption besides TSL/SSL for offsite replication for example?

3- Can you for example copy backups to USB disk with long retention periods and delete them from the appliance to free up space and just keep them on the external disk? this will allow the appliance to have more than 5.5TB of storage and get the backups from the external disk whenever needed. Will this work?

1) Yes. Just use the same interface that you are using.  Just make sure that the link allows it.

2) Yes.  You should be able to encrypt the data in your appliance.

3) Yes. You can do so.  Just connect the USB drive to the appliance, define storage on it and then duplicate your backup sets to the USB drive.

...when duplicating to that USB drive, bear in mind it will rehydrate the data to the original size...it will not be deduped to the B2D.
