Backup Exec 2010 R2 to R3 upgrade

My BU exec 2010 R2 is running perfectly, however, we've chosen to upgrade to 2010 R3 as part of our 2012 evaluation.

Can anyone list the patches required and the order to apply them to go BU exec 2010 R2 4164 to the current R3 patch level. (both32 bit and 64 bit)

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Check the link below...it's all the same. x32 and x64 are on the same ISO:

http://trialware.norton.com/files/fc/Backup_Exec_2010_13.0.5204_MultiPlatforms_Multilingual_DVD.iso

Once you upgrade, get SP2 for BE 2010 R3 installed (either manually or through LiveUpdate), and then run LiveUpdate to install any additional patches. Then push-install to any remote servers you might have.

Thanks!

If you are upgrading to R3 than there is no need to update BE2010 R2 with latest patches.

You can directly upgrade from R2 to R3 infact you can directly upgrade to BE2012 too.

Before upgrading do make a copy of DATA and CATALOGS folder.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Can you provide a link to the proper downloads for both 32-bit and 64 bit SP3 upgrades?

Thanks.
