What version of BE are you running and what is the OS of the PC being backed up?

If you are using SafeOS, then it is not supported by any version of BE

If you are using a compatible OS, then -

1) Enable Advanced Open File option and set it to use the MS VSS provider.

2) If running any AV scans, set it to exclude from scanning the BE processes.

3) Uncheck the option to backup mountpoints and symbolic links.

I am running Windows 7 64bit and BE 2012.  I made the changes mentioned above, will touch base once my backup runs.
