Hi All,
Fingers crossed someone can help me unpick this rather nasty situation.
Have been using Backup Exec 10d SP3 for a while now and without any issues what so ever. Last week, after doing a defrag on our Exchange database the server (Windows Server 2003 Small Business) was rebooted.
Ever since that reboot, we have been unable to complete even the smallest of backup jobs. The jobs fail with error code 0xe00084f4
Our tape drive is an HP StorageWorks Ultrium 960 internal drive - it's a single drive, not an autoloader.
One thing I've noticed is that in Device Manager, the tape drive appears in the list 15 times - each instance pointing to a different target, for example
Bus 0, Target 0, LUN 0
Bus 0, Target 1, LUN 0
Bus 0, Target 2, LUN 0 etc etc
In device manager, the drive shows as Hewlett Packard LTO Ultrium-3 Drive. The installed driver is Hewlett Packard and is dated 14/05/2009
The drive is connected to LSI Adapter, Ultra320 SCSI 2000 series, w/1020/1030 -ScsiPort. The installed driver is LSI Logic and is dated 14/03/2005
Having gone through most of the troubleshooting documents, I'm now at the stage where nothing has worked so far and I'm now using the tracer.exe utility - results of which are below. I will not post the full log, which runs to 16mb but only the items I have picked out as indicating a problem.

Have now taken steps to downgrade the firmware on the Ultrium from G66D to G64D.
Rebooted server and started a backup job - this one ran for slightly longer (1hr 50mins) but again failed with the same error.
Thought I was getting somewhere!
