Hi!
I am getting this error when running differentiatial backup on one of the machines:
We are using Backup Exec 2012. All updates are installed. The machine on which the backup is running is Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. The machine to be backed up is running on VMware ESXi 4.1.
The back up does not fail everytime. All information on this error were related to Backup Exec 2010 which got a hotfix for that, but no info about 2012.
Any help would be appriciated.
Best regards!

Considering that the backup job does not fail each time it runs, I am assuming that its a network related problem that results in an I/O error when an attempt to download a file from datastore is made.
Please refer to the following to get more details on it: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH154848
If it does not help, then you might want to enable debugging by refering to the following link: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH63926

I forgot to mention, but there is also this error appearing in the log file:
Data for VMVCB::\\****\****\****.vmdk is corrupt.
But the machine running from this vmdk is running just fine, so I doubt that this fiel is really corrupt. I also doubt that this is a network problem.
