Hello to all,

I have hunted around the web and mostly these forums but i can not find a problem/solution specific to the one i have.

I am getting a Backup- System?State\System Files\System Files in use - skipped

As you can imagin this is not a good thing... =)

Running Windwos SBS2008 with backup exec 2010.

The server is NOT running Trend Micro or any of the other 3 or 4 programs that cause these problems. As i said above i have hunted these forums for an answer but i just can't find anything close enough to offer a fix/solution.

The error regarding the transaction logs can be easily solved.  When BE backs up a SQL database, it doesn not clear the SQL transaction log.  You need to set up another job to backup the transaction log and clear it.  Choose "Log - backup transaction log" in he Microsoft SQL section of the job properties.

For your system state error, you should separate out the backup of your SQL databases from the backup of your normal files.  In the job that backup normal files, turn on AOFO.  In the job that back up SQL databases, don't use AOFO

Thanks for that,

I'll give it a go and see how it turns out.

Hey RCS, how did you get on?  We just started getting the same error:

Final error: 0xe000fedd - A failure occurred accessing the object list.
Final error category: Resource Errors

Backup- System?State
V-79-57344-65245 - A failure occurred accessing the object list.

We already separate out our SQL backups from our File System backups.  Again, we don't use teh commonly encountered applications that cause this error.

Cheers

Paul

As far as i know this will fix my issue. Another Tech is/has/will do it and all i know of it is that the SQL and filesystem are in the same one. It might pay to open another post for your issue and make refference to this one and the suggested fix here as well.
