0xe000fedd - A failure occurred accessing the object list

I am using BE 2010 R3 with all the up to date patches. I have a job which all of a sudden is now failing at System State, with the error "0xe000fedd - A failure occurred accessing the object list" and:

Backup- \\Server.domain.com\System?State
V-79-57344-65245 - A failure occurred accessing the object list.

I've rebooted the server that System State is failing on, reran the job but fails with same error. Reinstalled BE agent on the server, reran the job same and same error. Any ideas?
