Hi I am trying to restore a single SharePoint 2007 word document, the database it resides in is 60GIG and I have 105GIG available space to restore however it fails every time with :

Final error: 0xe000848f - Insufficient disk space.
Final error category: Resource Errors

Restore- Content-DB 1 (SERVER1\SHAREPOINT\SPDB1)
V-79-57344-33935 - The path on the media server for staging temporary restore data when restoring i...

I have made sure that the staging temp directory is on the D drive which has 105 GIG of space, I have additionally relocated the catalogue location to another drive that has 40GIG of space.

Yet after about 7 attempts now it gets to 51 - 55GIG and fails...

We really need this document back, how can I get the restore to work?

Windows 2003 SP2
Backup Exec 11d 7170

Many thanks

Marcus

Hello,

Insteed of running the restore job directly from TAPES, create a new DUPLICATE job of the ORIGINAL job (Duplicate existing backup sets) which went on TAPE and target it to a Backup to Disk folder and run second restore to restore the Document....

1  : Create a B2D folder on the D- Drive (which has 105GB Free space)
2  : create a new DUPLICATE job of the ORIGINAL job (Duplicate existing backup sets) which went on TAPE and target it to a Backup to Disk folder
3  : Create another restore job from the B2D folder on the D-Drive....

The samter way to do this would be first duplicating the backup to a backup to disk location ... When you duplicate the data to disk and  run the restore it does not need to stage the data ...
So you can create a new backup to disk location which have enough space and then start the restore .
Running restore from the backup which is on Disk does not require staging.
