Hi, I got this error in the Event viewer and now the backup won't run...it just says "Loading Media":

Source: Service Control Manager
Event ID: 7026
Description: The following boot-start or system-start device(s) failed to
load 4mmdat--VRTS.

I looked into the System Info...software environment..drivers...and the driver is indeed stopped.

Is this what is causing me the problem? If so, how do I get the driver working again so that i can do backups?

That's your problem, all right.

First thing to try would be to re-install or upgrade the driver.

Generally this error occurs due to device driver related problem. To resolve the issue, do the following:

1. Uninstall VERITAS device drivers using following link:

2. Reboot the server

3. Download the latest VERITAS device drivers from the following link:

http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/273853.htm

4. Install latest device drivers and verify the result.
