6235 doesn't support Exchange 2007 and 7170 doesn't support DFS backups...

We have Exchange 2007 and DFS, there is no BackupExec 11D rev. that supports both.
Does anyone know when will Symantec release a BackupExec version that would work with both?

Thanks...

It's been months since the 7170 release and still no fix for this major problem...
Here's the link about remote agent crash problem with 7170 and DFS backups.

Am I alone here looking forward to switch to Microsoft DPM for backup solution?

Are you using DFS WITH Exchange, or just seperately and you want to support both with Backup Exec?

Have you made selections for DFS under System State?  It used to be a normal selection but in the latest version, DFS is found under System State in the backup selections.

Exchange 07 and DFS Servers are 2 different boxes.  Yes DFS selection is under System State.

In short we had to go back to 6235 b/c of the DFS problem Backupexec has.

Now we can't backup Exchange 07 or Sharepoint 07 servers.

Sahap:

You mentioned that the Exchange 2007 and the DFS are located in two different servers.  What about Backup Exec Media server, is this the same server as the DFS server?

Yes BackupExec server and DFS  are located in the same Win2K3 Server.
SharePoint and Exchange are in 2 different servers

Another problem with BE 11D, if you disable/delete any mailbox in Exchange server,
BE will fail when backing up individual mailboxes. It doesn't know how to
to skip those mailboxes and job will fail. You have to manually unselect them
every time before the job run. It's supposed to skip them automaticaly...

I can go on and on about BE problems...

It is supposed to be fixed by HF 17.  I'm going to install it this weekend.
