A00081D9 The backup exec job engine system service is not responding

We have a SBS 2000 Server with backup Exec 9.1 installed on it.
Now the backup does not work anymore because of the "A00081D9 The backup exec job engine system service is not responding"error.
I started the service but it does not work.

Dr. Watson error may occur in BENGINE.EXE if a media alert is pending when a job cancellation occurs.
