AWS VTL Tape drive issue "No Media"

CampanellaSupp
Level 2

BU Exec 16 on a Windows 2016 Hyper-V VM. Backing up mainly other Hyper-V VMs. Just getting started with it. Ran a few backups, things seem ok. I needed to reboot the host holding the AWS virtual machine that hosts the tape library and after fighting BU Exec like crazy to get it to "online" the VTL and stay online (restart services, reboot the server, no idea what really fixed it) it's there, but the tape drive says "No Media". My license only supports one drive so tape drives 2-10 have been disabled -- no big deal there. Before the reboot of the AWS Vitual machine there were 8 tapes working just fine. AWS shows the tapes, everything happy. I finally got "Inventory" jobs to run on the Tape Loader (it literally takes 30 minutes to inventory a **virtual** tape library with one drive) but still "No media"

Iscsicpl shows the connections. Dropping and re-adding doesn't make a difference.

How do you troubleshoot this kind of thing?

You may require to run an "Import" job. Refer to the following article:

Brilliant!

Thanks
