Active files used by operating system skipped during backup

Hi,

I have a Backup Exec 2010 R3 installed on WIndows Server 2008 R2 in my environment. I am unable to backup active files used by operating system skipped during backup. All files are able to backup except for this 'httpd.exe' which is used by apache software running. I have selected Advance Open File Option and used Microsoft shadow copy as the VSS option but it is not working.

Anyone encounter this before?

Regards,
Chiew Sheng

If you have enabled AOFO and is still unable to backup the file, then there is nothing much that can be done.

...exclude the files and the exception will go away.

Thanks!

Hi, I need all open files to be backup so that in an event of a disaster I can recover the whole system with all applications working. Any idea?

Set the provider to Automatic and see what happens.

Thanks!

If you are unable to backup httpd.exe, just make a copy of it using Windows Explorer and use it when you need to do a restore. Since it is an exe file, there are no changes from day to day. Just remember to make new copy when you update Apache. With the copy, you can then exclude it from your backups and avoid the error message
