As noted here (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH188508), it is not possible to use the physical to virtual conversion if there is a GPT disk present. The only work around is to disconnect the GPT disk and then perform the virtualization of the machine. For me personally this won't work because I use the GPT disk for file storage and backup. It would be nice to be able to disable the GPT disk for the virtualization, if GPT disk virtualizion won't be supported.

Hi there,
we have an Ideas Section for posting Enhancement requests , use the Create Content menu item at the top of the forums to create an Idea.
Also with regards this specific request are you aware that we cannot support GPT content for GRT (Granular) backups within a Virtual Machine

Thanks for the direction.
I was not aware that GPT content wouldn't be supported in virtual machines. Are GPT disks just not widely supported by Backup Exec?
