Adding Linux PC to Windows Backup Exec schedule

Hi all - We have Backup Exec 20 running on Windows Server 2008 R2. I want to add a Linux server to my backup schedule. I have found a RALUS_RMALS>RAMS-1180.1162.tar.gz file within the Symantec Backup Exec 2015 folder on the Backup Exec Server C://. Is this the latest version of the Linux Agent?

And also, according to what I can see, I cannot unzip and push this file out to the Linux server. Do I need to move this onto a USB and install onto the Linux server manually? If anyone has done this before I would be very grateful for an explanation of the steps you took.

My Linux skills aren't great so thank you for your patience, and in advance for your assistance.

Thank you, I had seen that article already, but as I said my Backup Exec is running on a Windows server.

So I need to know,

Have I identified the correct file in RALUS_RMALS.RAMS-1180.1162.tar.gz - this this the Agent for Linux?

And how best can I get this file from a windows machine to a linux machine? Thanks

@Peter12345

Yes, that is the correct file.

You can use a utility such as psftp to copy the file to your linux server - https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html

Also make sure that you have a supported version of Linux, as per https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/BE_20_SCL
