AOFO is recommended not to be used for Exchange backups.
About the 0xE000FE1F errors, try these KB articles:

2. There are mailboxes in each of the storage groups
Nothing is hidden.
And try to reboot the server once and check

Check the technote below, see if it helps in any way...

Besides that, create a new selection list with the Information Store in, and try running a manual backup...if it works, it is a corruption in the selection list, which you will have to recreate.

Hi,
I'm having the same problem, I'm getting "Snapshot Provider Error (E000FE1F): The device cannot be found." but randomly.
I've got 3 jobs setup: Daily Backup, Weekly Backup, Monthly Backup.
Monthly runs on the first Thursday of each month, Weeklys run on subsequent Thursdays and Dailys run Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri.
All 3 jobs use the same selection list and fall under the same policy. Over the past month or so I've received this error on the following occasions:
Wed 03/11 - Failed
Thu 08/11 - Failed
Thu 18/11 - Failed
Wed 24/11 - Failed
All other backups have worked successfully which rules out it being the selection list and rules out anything in the policy (doesn't it?).
What else can I check? The exchange server that it is backing up is a Windows SBS 2008 Virtual Server (running Exchange 2007). The information stores are the only things that are being backed up from the server.
any help would be much appreciated.
Tom
