Alternatives to Symantec 2012 Duplicate jobs

Hi Everyone,

We are currently using symantec 2012  with multiple backup servers in multiple locations using a CASO environment.

The issue I am finding is that the duplicate jobs take too long and they intefere with backup jobs .  It appears as though the backup jobs can not run if a duplicate job is running even if its a totally different server.

I was wondering if anyone used rsync or any other replication software to get the data from their primary backup server to their DR sites .

If not are they hardware applicances that anyone can recommend.

It depends on what data you want to back up but I would look for a bit replication solution. SAN to SAN or if you're using hyper-v or vmware they both have replication tools built into their latest offerings.

...see if you can script a robocopy as it comes built-in with Windows Server 2008 if you have it. Otherwise download it for free.
