Hi
We are getting this error alot lately.
An error was encountered writing to the on-disk catalogs
A synthetic backup of this resource will not include the data backed up by this operation until the next full or incremental backup of this resource runs.
i found these two KB articles:
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH53393
Before i do it, can someone confirm which of the method describes in the link should i use? (TECH 53393)
Is it B or C? its not A as i got plenty of space on my drive.
What will happen if i rename the Catalogs folder to Catalogs.old? how can the catalog be recoverd?
Thanks
Dori

You can try C first. If it does not work, then try B.

You can try renaming first. If not resolved, try the other solution.

You can simply copy the contents in old catalogs folder to newly created one (if creating new folder resolves your issue).

What is the point of re-indexing the catalog, when you already created a new catalog?

You should try C, then B.

Yes no point in that.
I was just thinking renaming catalogs folder can be done easy and fast. I was not thinking about solution C while posting. That is why i mentioned you can try other solution. Anyways PKH
